Mr. X opening weekend earns Rs.13.99 cr

Emraan Hashmi's latest offering Mr X might have been panned by the critics but the sci-fi drama has able to earn Rs.13.99 crore in the opening weekend. A tale of an invisible man taking on the baddies in Mr. X has done average business at the box-office in the opening weekend.

The film managed to collect only Rs.4.50 crore on Friday, which further dipped on Saturday as the film was able to make only Rs.4.39. However, the film did good business on Sunday by raking in Rs.5.1 crore.

Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the film's box-office collection in the opening weekend.

Produced by Vishesh Films and directed by Vikram Bhatt, the film features Emraan Hashmi as an invisible man who seeks revenge for all the wrongs done to him. It also features Amyra Dastur and Arunoday Singh.

The film is made on a budget of Rs.40 crore (including marketing and distribution costs) and has already received Rs.27 crore (for satellite and music rights), read a statement.

The film was released along with Margarita With A Straw and managed to get more screens than Shonali Bose's film.  On the other hand, Kalki Koechlin's film has been able to collect Rs.2.12 crore in the opening weekend.
