Ram Gopal Verma received a legal notice from Bollywood actress, Sridevi,
for using her name as the title of his upcoming controversial Tollywood
movie. The upcoming RGV film has garnered all media attention from the
time it was launched. Earlier titled as Savitri, the movie still sees
troubled times ahead.
In the legal notice, Sridevi’s attorney has categorically mentioned that the movie’s title bears an instant reference to the diva of Bollywood. The notice stated that since RGV had been highly vocal in his press notes and on his blog of his admiration for the actress and because of the content of the movie, the audience is bound to associate the actress with the movie. Also, the fact that Sridevi is a popular name in the South Indian Film Industry, a movie after her name that has received considerable negative publicity, may tarnish her image.
