A day ago, an excited Shahid tweeted,”En route Rome film festival to share #haider .. big smile happy times .. morning all”. The actor-director duo of Shahid Kapoor and Vishal Bhardwaj were spotted at the screening of Haider during Rome Film Festival.
While the film did a decent business at box office, it had manged to garner critical acclaim thanks to Bharadwaj’s impeccable adaptation of Shakespeare’s Hamlet in the backdrop of raging national issue of Kashmir insurgency. Shahid Kapoor was lauded for probably his best onscreen performance till date. We are sure Haider would be screened at few more prestigious film festivals, but will Shahid-Shraddha-Tabu starrer make it to the Oscars in 2016 remains to be seen.
